Farm boy

Another birthday has come and gone at our house. Last week Tristan turned 7. And yes, every time my children turn a year older, I do the “Where has the time gone?” thinking 🙂 I really can’t believe my 2nd from youngest child is 7 yrs. old!

I delivered him on a cold, winter day at 3:25 p.m. He came into the world screaming, and that was a good indication of our days ahead 🙂 I delivered at a midwife, and there was remodeling going on in the next room (my midwife rented the facilities). So the owner of the building, who was doing the remodeling, called his wife up, and told her there is a new baby crying, and she came down and brought soup. And she wanted to see Tristan 🙂 Anyways, that soup tasted quite good after all my hard work 🙂

Tristan was definitely a challenge for us! Such sweetness, but so much crying. And the dear boy continues to challenge us 🙂 He is raw energy, goes from morning till night. The sweetest boy ever, and then the most stubborn child ever . In my opinion 🙂

Sometimes I feel like he gets cheated a bit, with his birthday being so soon after Christmas. We didn’t do any big celebration, but I did buy some “icing piled high” cupcakes, and we took him to Infinitos for his birthday meal. His choice of where to go 🙂

We apparently had no computer at the time he was born. Yes, we were and still are a little late to the party 🙂 But I just wanted to show you what a cute baby he was 🙂 So this picture was in my album, and I took a pic of it with my phone. Devan with his new little brother.

Another one I love from when he was 3 1/2 yrs. old..He just loves life on our farm, loves to be with his Daddy. I decided to take his pictures inside this year. One, because it was cold as could be, and two, because I wanted to see if I could take decent inside pictures with my chalkboard wall 🙂 The year he turned 6, I told him we’ll take some with a calf, and then I thought, “Why did I agree to this?!?” This is what happened.Yup. We had a rodeo 🙂 I left the men do the rounding up 🙂 That calf was fast, let me tell ya. Didn’t make it easy on them 🙂 So yes, this taking his pictures inside was quite nice. He always does the wide eye look 🙂 This one from when he turned 5 has the same look.My sweet boy! How I love him!
