Our sweet, chubby boy…
He is starting to giggle, reach for toys, and show his personality.ย I amย busy and blessed! ๐
Have a lovely end to your week!
8 weeks old already, and growing like a weed ๐ He just had his 2 month checkup and has more than doubled his weight. What can I say, he loves to eat ๐ So these pictures come a bit late, but I love seeing how much he has changed already!
It was so easy and fun to take his pics because he happened to be a sleepy baby ๐
We just think he is so adorable ๐
He couldn’t be loved more, and we are so grateful for the blessing of another child!
The announcements…
A couple more to finish up.
Have a great rest of the week! I absolutely can not believe school starts so soon! ๐
Our boy is 8! He has grown so much lately, and it kind of makes me a little bit sad. This child has thrown us for a loop in parenting, and we still don’t always know how to handle him ๐ He is so sweet,ย yet extremely stubborn, a farm boy through and through. He has incredible energy and determination, if only he uses it the right way ๐
I remember the day he was born. I woke early in the morning, sensing something wasn’t right, and by 5:30am, I knew this was happening ๐ I labored at home for a bit, because I never went fast before, and we arrived at the midwife around 10. Dale jokes that I’d be at 8cm, and I thought, “Ya, right!” Well, he was right. I was at 8. My contractions were not very close at that point, and not that hard, so I snacked on crackers and rocked on the rocking chair, and walked. By 1:00, nothing had changed, so they broke my water. What followed was about 2 1/2 very hard hours, but he arrived squalling at 3:25pm. He had moved his bowels a bit, and they suctioned away, so that was a bit worrisome, but all was fine. And he wouldn’t stop crying. That was maybe a sign of his temperament ๐
He wasn’t the happiest of babies, and I remember how stressful the crying could be. When I look back, it all seems like a blur, and now here he is, 8 yrs. old. His learning difficulties were hard for me to deal with, because school always came easy for me, but he is making us so proud. He is doing so much better than we thought he would, and he really tries. He will say he doesn’t like school, and I know he missesย his daysย at home helping his dad, and playing with the farm babies, but he can’t fool me ๐ He definitely shows signs of enjoying school, and he talks nonstop when the school day ends.
I still didn’t get his pictures taken, but we’ll try to do that next week. So I’ll just include a few pictures of him doing what he loves ๐
We love you so much, Tristan! And we are so thankful God gave you to us ๐
We did these on a beautiful fall evening here on our farm. It was a very quick session, with a race against the setting sun, but the children were so great.
First, the little doll. What an adorable chunk she is ๐
Next, this little guy was not getting his picture taken, until all of a sudden, he turned into Mr. Smiles ๐ He is such a handsome little guy!
And the oldest of the 3, and such a great older brother. Love his grin!
And then we didย some very quick snaps of the family, because documenting these fleeting moments is so important! This was the one that got the nicest ๐
Happy Tuesday, friends! Hope your day is going well!ย I’m taking advantage of this rainy day to edit photos, and do some office work ๐
Until next time…
Dear son, you are growing into such a handsome boy, with your deep brown eyes, and freckles, and thick, long eyelashes. You remind me so much of your Dad. Your love of all things John Deere. Your dreaming of what to purchase next ;). Your ease at running anything with a motor. How can it be that my boy is on the threshold of adolescence? You are still a child. Yet. But I see you growing and changing.ย You are thin, with bony legs and knobby knees, but you sure can show offย your hard muscles ๐ Some days, my frustration with you reaches out and grips me with it’s intensity. You are stubborn, and hot tempered, and dare I say, more like me than I care to admit. But that doesn’t change my love for you.
I was certain you’d never come, on that HOT, July day. Eleven, I repeat 11 days late, and you still wanted no parts of entering this big world. Pretty sure you would have been content in there another week or two, but the midwife said it’s time. I got bigger with you than any. You weighed the most too. I ate fresh blueberries while I labored away with you ๐ You were born with black hair, and almond shaped eyes, and you looked a bit like an Indian ๐
Now here we are. You are 10, and entering 4th grade. I do love seeing you grow. But slow down, son, slow down!
Like I said, he loves John Deere. I really did not want a tractor picture, but just for him we did ๐ย
Little sis wanted in on the action ๐
I may have to keep the girls away in a few years ๐
Thanks for stopping by, friends! Have a lovely weekend!
I love being able to photograph my nieces and nephews! Here is Tanner. Such a cutie pie!
There was just a hint of a smile for his crazy aunt with the camera in his face ๐
And there is that beautiful smile. One of my favorites from this session!
This last one, another fave. I mean, how can you handle all that cuteness? ๐
Be blessed, Friends!
A session from this Spring. This little guy was so easygoing! Happy child, happy photographer ๐
Love chubby baby hands!
Isn’t he a doll?
Mother and son. I love how this accidental sunbeam happened. I didn’t see it till I edited ๐
I really enjoyed taking this little guy’s pictures!
Hope your week is going well! I admit to being a bit frustrated with the rainy forecast, but I’m trying to stay positive and be thankful ๐
