So my sis-n-law said she needs a family picture for a scrapbook page, could I take one? I say, sure, but I’m not used to doing families 🙂 She was fine with that, and one night as we were both getting ready to go away ( we live right beside each other ), she asked if we could quickly do that. And quick was the word here! In 5 min. I took of them and the my nephews by themselves, and hoped for a good one 🙂 I told my brother-in-law I like longer sessions, but he said quick was his preference. Men 😉
Here are a few of the Goods. Aren’t they a cute family? 🙂 And the 2 cuties.. Brothers are the best of friends. Mostly 🙂
Hope you are having a great week!!
It’s strawberry season around here, and we are loving all things strawberry 🙂 If only they lasted a little longer! Strawberry jelly ready for the freezer. I made a pie and there was 1 slice left 🙂 This is the recipe we like :
1 1/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
Cook together till thick and clear. Add 1 3 oz. pack of strawberry jello. Cool slightly and add sliced strawberries. ( I use approximately 1 qt. ) Pour into prepared crust.
I take the easy route and buy a ready made crust 🙂 This recipe says to bake it at 425 degrees for 8 min., and cool before adding strawberry mixture.
Jenna needs to be told when she had enough 🙂
We’ve also enjoyed strawberry shortcake, strawberry milkshakes, and fresh strawberry danish. YUM!
In honor of my favorite guy in the world 🙂 Happy Father’s Day!!
Was Jenna really this little?! Time flies!
Joke I pulled on him 🙂 The yard was full of cows 🙂

Thank you for the long days & short nights, the booboos kissed, the tears wiped, your patience, kindness, & love for us!
We think you are the best ! Love you!!
I’ll be honest, I usually do my baking when Jenna is napping, but this time I let her “help”:) It is fun to watch her eagerness to turn the mixer off and on. This is a quick, easy recipe we enjoy.
Chocolate Oat Bars
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup oatmeal ( I use baby oatmeal )
1 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
dash of salt
Directions : Cream together butter & sugar. Stir in egg & vanilla. Add oatmeal, flour, soda, & salt. Press 2/3 of mixture into a greased 9×13″ pan.
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 14 oz. can sweetened, condensed milk
1 Tbsp. butter
Melt together chocolate chips, butter, and sweetened, condensed milk, stirring constantly over low heat. Pour over mixture in pan. Crumble remaining oat mixture over top. Bake @ 350 degrees for 18 – 20 min.
Tip – Be careful not to overbake 🙂And then you may lick the spatula if you’d like 🙂
Today it was Devan doing some thinking….
He said “Mom, there is Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, they should have a Kid’s Day!”
I wasn’t sure what to say, but I’m thinking “Son, I think pretty much every day is YOUR day :)”( don’t our lives as Moms and Dad’s revolve around our children? 🙂 )
